Hello, DA. I'm thinking of posting the story I've been meaning to work on for the past year and a half. I've got a little bit of it written... but not nearly enough, in my opinion. xD

You'll notice all of my BJDs photographed here have names and back stories. I began the idea for the story with my first BJD, Ophelia, and from there decided to collect the rest of the characters I came up with. It's so cool to see them come to life. :3 I find it much easier to write the characters I actually have in my possession!

Anyway, the story revolves around Ophelia, both in this world and in her world, Terra Vera. Here, she has lived with her mother for her entire life, and has rarely ever been outdoors. She was home-schooled and spent most of her time with her timid little brother, Toby, or in Terra Vera with her father. The story begins immediately after Ophelia's mother passes away, and her aunt's family comes to live with her.

One of my issues is the audience for the story. I think my target audience is probably going to be a younger crowd, because I feel the concepts could be embraced by kids 10 and up. But at the same time, I don't want that to limit me. I'm hoping that like Harry Potter and other books in that sort of genre, it can be written so that anyone can enjoy it.

But then, what genre do I use to classify it? Will older people read it if I classify it as "children/teens"? I can't really classify it as fantasy either, even though half of it takes place in a fantasy world... I guess I'd be safe putting it in "general fiction"? Hm. If anyone actually reads this... let me know what you think. xD
